中塚翠涛 suitou nakatsuka
From Kurashiki city, Okayama Japan.
Starting to learn calligraphy at the age of 4, she graduated from Daito Bunka University with a major in Chinese literature. Based on classic calligraphy, she expresses the lure of brushworks in both Japan and overseas in many ways such as on Japanese washi paper, on earthenware, on glasses, in films and so on.
Her publications include the book series to practice handwriting, “You Can Make Your Handwriting Beautiful in 30 days” published over 3 million copies. In her first art collection book, “Kotoba no Mori” (means the forest of words) she shows how she feels about words and idioms in her own calligraphy and short essays.
